Terms of Service

The agreement between Cashvya and a merchant using the platform to accept payments.

Last updated: 31 October 2026

1. This agreement

Draft — needs review before you rely on it

This document was prepared to match how the Cashvya platform actually behaves, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Collecting money on behalf of other businesses is a regulated activity in India. Have a qualified advisor review this page, and confirm what authorisation your settlement model requires, before onboarding merchants you do not personally know.

Every highlighted placeholder must be replaced with your real details.

These terms are between [Legal entity name] ("Cashvya", "we") and the business that registers a merchant account ("you"). Creating an account, or accepting a payment through Cashvya, means you accept these terms.

If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. Eligibility and your account

To hold a merchant account you must be at least 18, be able to enter a contract, and be operating a lawful business.

You agree to:

  • Give accurate business, contact and bank details, and keep them current.
  • Complete email and mobile verification. An unverified account cannot accept payments.
  • Keep a valid bank account and UPI ID on file. Both are compulsory — without them your settlements are held and cannot be paid.
  • Keep your password, API key and webhook secret confidential, and tell us promptly if any of them is exposed.

You are responsible for everything done through your account and your API key.

3. What Cashvya does, and what it does not

Cashvya presents a checkout to your customer, generates a UPI payment request, confirms from bank notifications that the money arrived, tells you the outcome through the dashboard and a signed webhook, and pays you a daily settlement.

Cashvya is not:

  • a bank, and it does not hold deposits or pay interest;
  • a lender or an escrow agent;
  • a party to the contract between you and your customer. What you sell, whether you deliver it, and any refund you owe, are between you and your customer.

4. Fees and settlement

Fee. Cashvya charges a platform fee on each successful payment. Your current rate is shown in your dashboard and on the public pricing section, and the fee is deducted before settlement. We will give you notice before increasing your rate.

Settlement cycle. Payments are grouped into Indian Standard Time calendar days, from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM. The settlement for a day is raised automatically after midnight and paid on the next day.

Settlement is next-day, not instant

Money from today's successful payments is settled to you the following day. There is no manual "pay me now" request.

Holds. A settlement is held, and cannot be paid, while your bank account and UPI details are missing or invalid. We may also hold a settlement while we investigate suspected fraud, a dispute, or a legal requirement, and we will tell you why.

Your records govern reconciliation. You should reconcile settlements against your own records and raise any discrepancy within 30 days.

5. Your obligations

  • Sell only what your account describes, and deliver what your customer paid for.
  • Publish your own refund, cancellation, shipping and contact details to your customers.
  • Handle your customers' refunds and disputes yourself, promptly and fairly.
  • Comply with the law that applies to you, including tax, consumer protection and data protection.
  • Treat customer data you receive through Cashvya as confidential, and use it only to fulfil the order.
  • Verify payment outcomes server-side from the signed webhook or the API, never from a browser event alone.

6. Prohibited use

You may not use Cashvya for, or to collect money for:

  • anything illegal where you or your customer are located;
  • gambling, betting or lotteries, except where you hold the required licence and we have agreed in writing;
  • unlicensed financial services, cryptocurrency exchange, money transfer or forex;
  • weapons, controlled drugs, or counterfeit goods;
  • sexual content involving minors, human trafficking, or any form of exploitation;
  • pyramid schemes, deceptive investment offers, or "guaranteed return" products;
  • collecting payments on behalf of another business without our written agreement;
  • processing your own cards or UPI accounts to generate artificial transaction volume;
  • attacking, probing or circumventing the platform's security, or testing it without permission.

We may ask you at any time to show what you sell and who you are. Failing to answer is itself grounds for suspension.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or illegality, if a bank or regulator requires it, or if your details cannot be verified.

A suspended account stops accepting payments immediately: its payment links, checkout buttons and API calls all stop working. Existing records and already-earned settlements are preserved.

You can close your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. Settlements already earned remain payable to you, less any amount you owe us, once any open disputes are resolved.

8. Disputes and reversals

If a payment is reversed, charged back or found to be fraudulent after it has been settled to you, you owe us that amount. We may recover it by deducting from later settlements, or by invoicing you if no settlement is due.

You agree to help us investigate a disputed payment and to provide order, delivery and communication records on request.

9. Liability

Cashvya is provided on an "as is" basis. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and UPI, bank and network availability is outside our control.

To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost data or indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the platform fees you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify Cashvya against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from what you sell, your breach of these terms, your breach of law, or your handling of customer data.

11. Changes, governing law and disputes

We may change these terms. Material changes will be notified to your account email, and continuing to use Cashvya after the effective date means you accept them.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [City, State] have exclusive jurisdiction.

Before starting proceedings, please raise the issue with our grievance officer below so we can try to resolve it.
